Stupid is as Stupid Does

Another cyclist run down and killed in Geelong today. A very common occurrence and it will continue while you have morons like this on the roads.

A common argument by the Bogans is that bike riders don’t pay car registration hence they don’t contribute to the road network. The insinuation is that they shouldn’t be on the roads to get in the way of the mindless Neanderthals like Emma Way. Of course their feeble brains forget that nearly all bike riders are car owners too.

We stay off the bitumen as much as possible and yearn for roads like this.

Very sad to hear about this young life taken today by a bus. I travel on the buses all the time and many of the drivers are arrogant, impatient and should not be on the road or in customer service.

I presume you mean the bus drivers because it applies to car drivers as well.

My husband was riding his bike to work and was sent into a muddy ditch. He had a dislocated shoulder and his bike was dinged up. The guy got out of his work van and called his wife to tell him that he’d been in an accident but that he was okay. Meanwhile husband is in the mud asking the guy to call for help. After some physical therapy he was better.

He’s been arguing with me for ages about the wearing of a helmet. He says that if you don’t wear a helmet, car drivers give you more space. If you’re wearing a helmet, they treat you with far less consideration making it more dangerous. I say that if he doesn’t wear his helmet, I’ll take a stanley blade to the tyres. 🙂

Good for you. Really his helmet argument is bizarre. They are a strictly enforced law here anyway but I can attest to why we wear them because I split my helmet in two after this crash.

SO was riding his bike to the mailbox and noticed some kids up to no good in an empty house under renovation, he continued to ride forward while looking backward, front tire found a bad spot in the road and off the bike he goes. He’s been limping around the house for 3 days now. I always tell him he’s too old to be sightseeing while he’s driving — hopefully he’s learned his lesson. I need to show SO your photo, SO’s lucky all he’s doing is limping. LOL you look like hamburger in your photo.

Just tell him to wear a helmet even though some people think they are unnecessary. Wouldn’t have prevented a sore leg but intact brains are more important.

I think I’d prefer to be looking like hamburger than having spilt my brains over the track which would have been the case from that crash.

The Emma Way story is incredible.
Some dedicated bike lanes have just been opened in downtown Toronto, with more to come. I hope this will keep bike riders safe, as so many have been injured and killed on the roads.

    It happens everywhere.
