What a Nutter

The science fiction writer, Arthur C. Clarke, giving an interview in 1974 on his predictions for the computer in the 21st century.

What a nutter! So far fetched and fanciful!

Cripes he was right on, did he mention anything about 12/21/2012.

So what’s supposed to happen on the 12th day of the 21st month?

    Or 21st December.

He didn’t mention that people would be killing themselves and others why texting and driving, or that people would step off curbs in front of moving vehicles because they were busy watching their hand-held devices or that mothers would negligently drown their babies in a tub because they were playing Farmville on Facebook. Oh yeah he never foresaw that so many would suffer from repetitive motion aches and pains from making a living banging of a computer keyboard. 🙂

Yep, a whole new world full of new social issues.

According to Mayan and a lot of other cultures that is supposed to be doomsday.Quite big here, survivalists are stocking up.

Wow! didn’t realize he was such a prophet. Sorry to hear about your bingle. I’m sure it won’t put you off. When will you start acting your age though! The model B52 was a triumph; how could you tool jet engines that small. I wonder if our American friends will be using the technology soon to add to their arsenal of pilot-less smart weapons or maybe it would be too loud..not exactly stealth. DBJ

Back on trusty steed already albeit a bit more subdued.

Could we get an update on what your brother John is doing these days, the last we heard he was in Bali?

He’s back home for the present but plans to spend half of each year here and half in his new house in Bali.
