The Aliens Have Landed

Actually, the drug lab story isn’t anything sinister.

One of the benefits of having read the meters of all the houses on the Bellarine Peninsula quite a few times is that I can read the real estate pages of the newspaper or see a house in an article and instantly visualise the place.

When I looked at this article with the meter box in the background,  I knew the place.  It had a locked gate that I used to vault (I use the word loosely) and it didn’t have any dogs to worry about but those aliens in the yellow suits used to always give me the heebie-jeebies.

The smart metering installations have hit Geelong and surrounds and we just received a letter telling us one is about to be installed at our place.

A meter reader was telling me the other day that they are being read remotely once they are installed and now the rounds they have to manually read are either non-existent or comprise large holes.  Seems they are running out of work and a job and probably another 12 months will see them all gone.

We’ve been feed the usual BS about how much they are going to benefit us users.

Don’t you just love progress.

So you did not just have dogs to deal with? You are lucky those aliens in their yellow suits did not catch you and return you to their planet of origin. Bye Bye Meter Readers. With technology you wonder if there will be any jobs left. Except maybe fixing the Not So Smart Meters when they break down!

I saw a lot of aliens out there. Except we call them various other names like “bogans”.

Usually the only way those meth labs are found is when they blow up, the house is now a toxic dump and wont be livable. Good thing you didn’t slam the lid on that meter. We just had our new meter installed, meter readers worldwide out of work.

The timing for me was spot on. Gave it away before all this happened.

A big modern expensive house on a fancy residential street not far from me caught fire a couple of months ago…. big blast blew out all the windows. Elderly couple in the house hurt. It turned out that the scummy tenant in the basement apartment was cooking up meth. House is now unlivable.
And smart meters…. we all have them now. Electricity is metered at different rates during different times of the day. And Summer rates are the opposite of winter rates. Supposed to be a cost saving for the householder but my electricity bill is still just as high!!!

He’ll probably get off with a slap on the wrist because he had a terrible childhood. These people should be snuffed out at birth.

not too sure about the terrible childhood, but he was Chinese.

The Chinese are supposed to be good with gunpowder, firecrackers and explosives. Maybe he get confused. 😀
