Viva La Hatch

Muppet’s mum owns a station wagon which is ideal for taking the dogs for a walk/run.  We usually feed the dogs and cats when they are away and use the wagon to take the dogs to the Rail Trail for a run.

That’s okay when they are interstate and the car is home but they are down at Port Fairy with the car for a few days and so no doggie car this time.

Or so I thought!

I’ve never been keen on hatchbacks but there were no Mondeo sedans in this country and we had to settle for a hatch.  The rear seats can fold down flat and it makes for a huge boot and I’m sold.

I tossed in a big tarp, popped open the door and they were in faster than a  meter reader in front of a Rottweiler.  The only trouble having the seats down was that Bugalugs wanted to lick the back of my head as I was driving.

We got back to the car after a run and I was glad for the tarp because their paws were covered in mud.  I put the rear seats back up to see if they would fit in the boot section with the parcel tray off, and here they were, happy as Larry, peering out the back window or peering over the back seats at me.

That fixed the licking problem.  Now to find a solution for the farting problem.

Mmmm, I did see a couple of tennis balls lying around at their place.

Looks like you bought the right model, can we see a pic of the front of the car now.Friend of mine got tired of her dalmation always begging for food, thought she would teach him a lesson one day when she was peeling an onion and threw it to him, he ate it and boy did she learn a lesson. You think MM’s dogs farted, never give them onions.+

June – I took this and this today and was going to post it tomorrow so you have a preview.

Awesome,Focus is great but can’t get even a chair in the bloody trunk.

June – MP loved her Fiesta and the Focus but took the new car for a 200k run yesterday to see her mother and came home rapt. Said it handled like a dream and a pleasure to drive and she got 6.5 litres/100k (43mpg imperial/36mpg US). We’re amazed at the huge boot which will be good when we travel in our new camper.

Nice ride, did the dog farts kill off the new car smell?

AZ – I was okay on this occasion but fearful that it would happen. After a feed of rabbit, you need to register Bugalugs’s arse as a deadly weapon!

I find with dogs they respond best to a taste of their own medicine…

    Air it out, Dogbait!

Scott – “Taste of their own medicine”. I need some ammunition. Yep, I saw a rotting rabbit carcass by the road the other day. Get that into me and I should about match them.

June, I’ve been told that dogs should never eat onions or chocolate as they can’t digest them and can make them very sick.

Scott, Bugalugs would revel in any odour DB could produce – she constantly seeks out dead things (or any kind of poo) to roll in them. That’s another wonderful aroma when they get back in the car!
