Hook up the saline drip

I did a couple of hours orientation in the air conditioned office today with the newbie before stepping out into 35c briefly and into the air conditioned car for the drive home.

As I approached Ocean Grove, the temperature gauge started plummeting and it was down to 24 when I pulled up at home.  It only got to 28 in OG courtesy of a nice sea breeze but we can’t bet on that tomorrow.

Some good news though.  The camping ground is quickly emptying and a good proportion of the tourists have gone home.  The Australia Day weekend just gone usually signifies the end of the holidays although the children don’t go back to school until next Monday.  Yippee!!

Tomorrow and it’s out into the inferno with 660 accounts to be read.  In good conditions, I could get through 80+ an hour but a newbie is less than half that.

Do the maths.  Should have them finished by the end of the year!

That’s if we live that long!

You don’t have to be mad, but I’m sure it would help! Don’t forget to Slip Slop Slap!

I just finished watching the CBC news here in Canada and they even had a weather forecast for Melbourne!!! Yup, that’s HOT! And they said centre court at the Australian Open was 50C! Even if I was a tennis whiz I am certain I could’t play a single stroke in temps like that.
Nice to live by the sea in the path of a cooling ocean breeze.

I can understand why you dont have a/c,ocean breeze etc, not much a/c on Cape Cod either for the same reason. But what about the city dwellers and people away from the ocean, why no a/c ? With 2 sons with their own a/c companies this interests me.

    Watch out Dogbait.

It’s 45.5 degrees here in Adelaide and it’s headed your way.

muscat55 – Plenty of that plus water. The PDE shat itself through the heat so got to go home early.

shammy – It’s downright dangerous playing tennis in that heat even if you are the fittest human on earth. In fact, it’s downright dangerous reading meters in it.

June – A lot of people here do have A/C but we can’t justify it for the few extreme days we have through the year. And you are right with the sea breezes we get but not today or tomorrow unfortunately.
