From today’s newspaper.  Could only happen in Oz.

————————————————

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror –
The wide brown land for me!

‘My Country’ by Dorothea MacKellar

What year did Dorothea MacKellar write that poem? Well before climate change, I think!

She wrote it in 1904 and it was first published in 1908.

We have only 6 weeks to go before we leave this beautiful valley, but we wont be sorry to leave the constant summer worry of living in a wild fire area one little bit!

Have been keeping track of your movements. Good luck with the shift. You are certainly leaving a beautiful area of the country.

Drought or flood or fire – please make up your mind! What is it to be? We’ve staked a claim on non-stop rain for the past seven years. We don’t deviate from that.

We don’t have to make up our minds as we usually get all three here at once.

January? It’s almost the end of february here…. you’re a very bad blogger recently.

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea máxima culpa. Okay, you shamed me into action this weekend but I can only promise you more babble.
