The Expert
I’ve been meaning to blog on our recent trips but must plead laziness. I’ll get there.
We’ve been doing a lot of biking of late and I’m a firm believer in keeping the bikes cleaned and well oiled especially if you pay a lot of money for a bike and you want to keep it in good condition.
Our local bike shop runs regular rides and workshops and I’ve learnt how to clean a bike properly from one of their sessions. However, I realise now that I’ve been doing it all wrong and wasting my time with detailed cleaning which can be somewhat laborious.
It’s taken the expertise of our young nephew, Jack, to show how it’s done properly. And, of course, you have to have pride in your labours.
Great photos. I think that must be how I clean my car because it always looks like that!
I remember an occasion when that car of yours was covered in mud an hour after we washed it.
That first photo… money shot. Love it.
Young Jack’s mother who took the shot has quite a talent for photography.
Love it, I always knew I was doing it right, i let the rain wash my car.
So you have a yellow car from the acid rain.
Oh my, the last time I saw a photo of young Jack he was a baby! I think Jack has the right idea about washing up a bike, in Arizona Mother Nature does the same thing, first we get a dust storm and then just enough rain to make a mess.
They grow up fast. As I mentioned in MM’s reply, we washed her car once before picking them up at the airport and we had a very rare dust storm and then a sprinkling of rain to turn it all into a mess. I guess that would be quite common in AZ.
Some people pay a fortune for a mud bath at the spa. Not sure if the benefit of mud applies to bikes though.
I can’t get mud off fast enough. In fact, I have an obsession with cleaning bikes. Four of them can fill in an afternoon.
Can I bring my bike to you to have it washed? (Just please please PLEASE don’t let Jack near it!
By all means but might be an expensive wash for you.
